Bangalore Institute Of Technology is one of the best VTU college and is ranked 5th overall in Bangalore. The campus may not add up to much as compared to the newer colleges with larger campuses but what it lacks in a campus makes up for it in it providing quality education.The faculties of all the branches are very student friendly and are very approachable.The placements are excellent too ! With a varying range of companies and start ups recruiting the graduates of my college. Canteen food is decent.Not that great though ! Even with the lack of a campus the college football and cricket teams are among the very best in Bangalore having won a number of inter-college tournaments. There are a lot of interactive clubs too.Such as a rotract club,a TedX talk liscense which is used to hold the talks and other student interactive forums.Overall its an very college to graduate from if you're planning to do Engineering under VTU in fact its listed as the best VTU college, owing to the numerous VTU rankers graduating for here."

Placements are good in BIT, especially for computer science and information science. If your aggregate is more than 65 % you ll be placed in very good companies , with good package.For other branches, placements is not that good. For mechanical hardly 3 or 4 core companies come for placements and select very few candidates.. same is the case with other branches.

There are a number of centres carrying out inter-disciplinary research and many collaborative programmes exist between the college and other institutions, like IISc, N.A.L, etc.The chemistry department has been recognized as one of the latest research centres in the state of Karnataka. The college is also a program centre for IGNOU. Teaching & research work is also amply supported by facilities such as central library with 30000 volumes of text books and reference books, and an INDUSTRIAL CONSULTANCY AND RESEARCH CENTER. Besides this, the institute also offers the facilities like auditorium (1200 seating capacity), seminar hall, co-operative society, canteen, full fledged sports and cultural sections as well as hostels for boys and girls.

Campus is very congested with parking everywhere. Lab are very good and are well equipped. extracurricular activities are very limited as much focus is given on curricular. Lots of events are held during Manthan. Rotract Club hosts a lot of events in the college.

HOSTEL FACILITIES
Hostel is very good with not a lot of restrictions imposed. Food is the best part about the hostel. Food is provided 3 times a day with tea in the evening. Hostel is priced reasonably well with almost 75000 for a year. Good rooms with no water and electricity problems.

Seniors are really very helpful to know about the placements and how to prepare for it. They will guide you in right direction.

FACULTY
Faculties are quite good. Have enough knowledge with some of them are on par and some are worst. Lab instructors are quite good. A lot of teachers have done PhD. Overall teaching is very good and it mostly depends on us to study well and get good marks in exam.

EXAM STRUCTURE
The college has 3 internals, each of 25 marks and 2 lab internals of the same marks. Externals are conducted for about a month as per VTU schedule. Exams are strictly conducted with very little chance of any cheating. Examiners come from different colleges for lab exams.

COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The syllabus is pretty outdated, and its not the fault of BIT but of VTU. The teaching is considerably good with much focus given to scoring good marks rather than securing knowledge. Although there are various clubs like stratos , Kratos , tedx which are really working to bring latest tech infront of students.

INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES
Some of the companies which come for the placements provide internships with an average stipend of over 10000.

COLLEGE EVENTS
Manthan is the college's annual fest which is generally celebrated in the month of April. Bollywood and kannada celebrities are invited to the fest. Last year Ranvijay singh came and before that Sudeep. Other than fest Ganeshotsav is celebrated every year. Tedx talks take place almost every year.
