Maharani Laxmi Ammanni College, Bangalore

Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women was founded by Dr. K N V Sastry in the year 1972 along with other likeminded people such as Dr.M.N.Mahadevan and Sri T.S.Rajam. The college made a humble beginning from Government Boys' School building with a strength of 4 girl students and today has about 2000+ students across various streams in UG and PG. Our College is named after Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni who was the queen of the Wodeyar dynasty who symbolizes the spirit of womanhood and was well known for her public spirit and political foresight. Her contribution to the strength of the Mysore kingdom was noteworthy.The founder Principal Smt M C Vedavalli and other management staff members laid a firm foundation for the college and was responsible for, development of the college, by its inclusion under 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC.

mLAC (formally MLACW) is located strategically in the vicinity of national institutes of repute such as Indian Institute of Science, Institute of Wood Science & Technology, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Raman Research Institute and Central Power Research Institute. These institutions of repute provide an excellent academic model for developing various facilities. Being located in the heart of Bangalore city,the institution has used the available area judiciously and optimally. The various departments of the institution are spread over three floors with ICT enabled classrooms and labs. All the labs are adequately provided with ergonomically designed furniture and fixtures,equipment, lighting and ventilation, so as to facilitate students and teachers to work with ease. The quadrangle is a hub of students' activities and the lounge provides an ambiance for students to unwind.

The computer science lab and well equipped biotechnology labs are the one among the best in the city and the institution is a pioneer in establishing the Business Lab which is visited by many contemporaries for its design and content. A fully equipped gymnasium managed by a trainer and a first aid facility staffed by a qualified nurse are student support services available in the campus. An air-conditioned auditorium, an open air theatre as well as a seminar hall are available for extracurricular and co-curricular activities. The UGC Network Resource Centre, ED Centre, Business Lab, English Language Lab, Bio Informatics Facility, Animal House, Zoology Museum, Ramanujan Math Foss Lab, Counselling Centre, Placement Centre, Psychology lab, Reprography centre and Cafeteria are also located in the campus.
